Description
This 55 gallon FDA Blue drum holds enough water for a family of 4 for 1 week, providing a gallon of potable water for drinking and cooking plus a gallon of sanitation water for tooth brushing, hand washing, etc. per person per day. The drum will weigh about 480 pounds when full. There are two 2″ bung holes on top. These bungs have different threads. One is an American Buttress thread which is coarse. The other is a NPS thread which is fine. The siphon pump has an NPS thread.
A drum wrench is required to open the bungs.
To dispense water, you use a siphon pump. No 3/4″ plugs are needed when using a siphon pump.
When filling, condition water with 7 teaspoons of unscented bleach per drum. The water will be good indefinitely.
