Description
This 15 gallon FDA Blue drum holds enough water for 1 person for 1 week, providing a gallon of potable water for drinking and cooking plus a gallon of sanitation water for tooth brushing, hand washing, etc. per person per day. The drum will weigh about 132 pounds when full. With handles on top, this drum can be moved and tipped. There are two 2″ bung holes on top with plugs. These bungs have different threads. One is an American Buttress thread which is coarse. The other is a NPS thread which is fine. The siphon pump has an NPS thread. The plugs have 3/4″ internal threads with knockout seals.
A drum wrench is required to open the bungs.
To dispense water, you can use either a siphon pump or a spigot. To use the spigot you will have to remove the knockout seal from a bung plug and screw the spigot into the plug. Then you tip the drum on its side on blocks or a stair. You need to get some height so that a dish or bottle will fit beneath the spigot.

When filling, condition water with 2 teaspoons (10 ml) of unscented bleach per drum. The water will be good indefinitely.
